When in the United States we consume about 10,000 gallons of oil per second, to give you an idea what 10,000 gallons is, it's what the average backyard swimming pool holds, so that's how much oil we consume every second of every minute of every hour of every day.... and that's only one quarter of the world's total consumption. How about that!
